About Face CD

I have been a fan of Gilmour and PF for a long time. But this one record I have never listened to until I recently picked up an original LP from 1984. I was blown away by this record. It does have an 80's sound but it’s not over bearing like so much work released at this time. I think it’s a step up from "David Gilmour" his first release and it’s a preview of what would be "On an Island" which is a masterpiece. I can't say this record is for everyone, but I do enjoy it and only wished I had a copy of it earlier. Too bad Gilmour only releases one solo record every decade. Hopefully we will get one more with 2020 just around the corner!

My name is Steven Gerard Schutz, I am 56 and I live in /Cottonwood Arizona. I attended the About Face Tour in 11 June 1984 at the Starlight Outdoor Theatre in Kansas City Missouri when I was a little over 21 years old. I bought the record beforehand and have had a few copies of About Face on cd over the years. I have found the sound quality without equal, the music without equal... The lyrics are extremely profound as is all of Davids artistry as well as Pink Floy's and the members of the band. What David talks/sings about is profound in every way.... I thank David to this day and wish I could relate to him in person.

I listen to this album all the way through about every 4 to 5 months. All the songs are well done and a joy to listen to. The sound quality is simply great, not over produced and its appropriately done for the material. It would be nice to have a High Resolution version of the recording but the CD is well done.

I love this CD. Sorry to see this one is sold out, thankfully I have a much older one. I took my original version with me to a friends Wedding in Maine and stupidly left it in the CD player of the rental Miata. Did get to enjoy it, especially "Cruise", while driving the Best Man around Boston and then up the coast to the site of the Wedding. My actual favorite cut is "Out of The Blue", followed closely by "Love on the Air". Have been a fan of David (and Pink Floyd) since he/they first started recording. All time favorites, bar none !
